Sleep Resolutions for the New Year

Say hello to 2022 and goodbye to mediocre sleep. With a stressful year, we could all use some quality rest and relaxation. Thankfully, new year’s resolutions for better sleep don’t have to be extravagant to make an impact. By incorporating a few (or all!) of our suggestions, you’ll be on your way to a happy and restful new year.

 

We’ve come up with five sleep resolutions to get you on track in 2022.

 

Implement a Bed Time

Remember growing up and you had a set bedtime each night? Those are the days we want to bring back. Getting your body in a routine will not only help you sleep more soundly at night, it can also give your body the signal that it’s time to rest. We recommend putting away electronics and anything that emits blue light at least a half-hour before you head to bed to ensure you drift off more peacefully.

 

Wake Up at the Same Time

While you’re at it, you should establish a wake-up time as well. Getting your body in the habit of waking up at the same time each morning will allow you to get a more restful night’s sleep. By having your alarm clock go off consistently each morning, you’re training your body to sleep up until that point. Soon your body will know what to expect and get into a rhythm that will most benefit you.

 

Create an Ideal Nighttime Routine

A lot of getting a good night’s sleep is how you prepare. By creating a nighttime routine, you’re letting your body know that it’s time to wind down. Nighttime routines can vary depending on what you find most relaxing. Enjoy a warm shower with dimmed lights, sip herbal tea, read, or journal. Whatever you decide, make sure it’s something you enjoy and find comforting.

 

Incorporate Essential Oils

Enhance your nighttime routine with essential oils that will help deepen your sleep. With a variety of different oils and benefits, you can find one that best suits you.
